SUMMARY:Succession Planning - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Register online: https://communities-rise.org \nAs a business owner\, your business can mean the world to you\, and that’s why it’s so important to create a succession plan. We put together this training and a toolkit to help you succession plan with ease. \nWhat is succession planning? A succession plan helps business owners plan for what would happen in the case of the owner’s retirement\, disability\, or death. Not having a plan can result in family fighting over control\, and in some cases can leave the community without a cornerstone business. A plan takes into consideration who will own and manage the business after the owner leaves\, and minimizes the tax impact of the transfer of business ownership. \nSpeakers: \nNisha Nariya\, Perkins Coie\nPeter Smith\, Apex Law Group\nTara Vitale\, Apex Law Group\nThe Succession Planning Toolkit is the result of a collaboration between City of Seattle Office of Economic Development\, Perkins Coie\, The Apex Law Group and Communities Rise. We would like to thank the City of Seattle\, Office of Economic Development for their partnership and resources to create this Toolkit. We would also like to thank the following attorneys who graciously provided their time and knowledge to create the content of this Toolkit: \nNisha Nariya\, Perkins Coie\nPeter Smith\, Apex Law Group\nTara Vitale\, Apex Law Group\nScott Wallace\, Perkins Coie

SUMMARY:The WA State LTC Trust: An Employer’s Guide
DESCRIPTION:Register here: https://pxlme.me/9GI9vMzb \nWashington is the first State in the Nation to create a Long Term Care Trust program\, and will be funded 100% through an employee-paid payroll tax. Most working Washingtonians will be eligible for these LTC benefits only once they have paid into the Trust for a minimum of 10 years. The LTC Trust does allow for individuals to apply for a waiver from the LTC Tax\, but they must show that they have purchased their own LTC insurance coverage. The onus is then on the employee to provide their employer with a copy of the State’s waiver. \nThe session will help you be prepared for the questions your company may soon be receiving from your employees with regards to the tax\, the opt out\, and the benefits provided under the LTC Trust program. \nWe will cover a number of topics\, including:\n• The benefits\, eligibility\, and limitations of the WA LTC Trust program\n• The WA LTC tax provisions\n• The exemption option from the new tax\, including deadlines to opt out\n• An opt-in for non-W-2 employees\, along with deadlines \nThere will be 60 minutes of content\, with an additional 30 minutes to answer your questions.
