The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Food Assistance Program (FA) is administering up to $4 million of grant funding to the hunger relief network of Washington this fiscal year (ends June 30, 2022) for the purpose of strengthening and equipping the entire hunger relief network to meet current and emerging community needs.

WSDA FA is offering three (3) grant opportunities to all hunger relief agencies, tribal governments, and tribal organizations across Washington. Agencies do not need to be currently contracted with Food Assistance to be eligible.

Project Size
This grant has three (3) award sizes to meet a variety of organizational needs:
Under $5,000 (equipment and installation costs only)
$5,000-$50,000
$50,000 and over
Applicants will apply for the award size most appropriate to meet their needs, and each has its own corresponding application process. If awarded, WSDA has the right to increase or decrease the award amount as needed, especially if requirements are not being met.

Grant Administrators

Under $5,000
Grant recipients of projects under $5,000 will contract with Harvest Against Hunger. These projects are for equipment and equipment installation costs only.

Over $5,000
Grant recipients of projects over $5,000 will contract with WSDA Food Assistance
