The Medina Foundation

The Medina Foundation is a family foundation that works to foster positive change in the Greater Puget Sound area. In honoring the vision of our founder, Norton Clapp, the Medina Foundation aspires to improve lives by funding human service organizations that provide direct support to Puget Sound residents. Funding Areas The Medina Foundation funds in the following focus areas:
  • Family Support—programs for those suffering from the effects of domestic violence or sexual assault, services to support child welfare, programs providing for basic needs, and other human services
  • Housing & Homelessness—housing and related services to support those in need, with the goal of helping people achieve housing stability
  • Youth Development—organizations working with underserved youth, offering mentoring, tutoring, or out-of-school time/enrichment activities
  • Economic Opportunity—opportunities that help people become economically self-sufficient, such as financial literacy, asset building, or skills-building programs
  • Education—birth to 12th-grade educational opportunities, adult literacy and other programs that enhance academic skills
  • Hunger—efforts to alleviate hunger, with an emphasis on distribution and rural communities
Timeline The Medina Foundation has no calendar deadlines for submitting requests. Any 501(c)3 organization working within our geographic funding area is welcome to submit an LOI (Letter of Inquiry) at any time. Funding Guidelines The Foundation makes grants to organizations qualified under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and classified as public charities (not private foundations) under Section 509(a). No grants are made to environmental, arts, healthcare-related or political programs, or to religious institutions for religious purposes. If you are unsure if you are eligible to apply, please review the Eligibility Quiz below before submitting an LOI.

The Norcliffe Foundation

THE NORCLIFFE FOUNDATION is a private family foundation in Washington State. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all people in our community.
  • Who we fund Applications are accepted from nonprofit organizations with tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that operate in the Puget Sound Region of Washington State.
  • What we fund A variety of program areas are supported including human services, healthcare, civic and community projects, education, and arts and culture.
  • Timeline We accept requests on a rolling basis, year-round. There are no calendar deadlines for submitting requests. Any 501(c)3 organization working within our geographic funding area is welcome to submit an application. We do not have a letter of inquiry process. Washington Filmworks Funding Assistance

The 2022 application window for funding assistance offered by Washington Filmworks will open on December 1, 2021. Prior to applying, applicants are strongly encouraged to read the Guidelines & Criteria and review the application. Washington Filmworks’ Board of Directors will review each complete application and decisions about funding assistance will be based on the economic impact of each production. No application materials will be reviewed or accepted prior to December 1, 2021 and the application window will remain open until the 2022 fund has been exhausted.
